The product is lingering in my mind

· 2 min read

It's been nearly two years since I started working on this product. It's been in my mind constantly, and I always keep imagining and thinking about what it will look like in the future and what features it will have -- sometimes as if I were under a spell.

I think about it while eating, walking, strolling in the park, hanging out with my family, riding my bike, and of course, when I’m sitting in front of the computer to create it …

Whenever I have a good idea, I wrote it down on my phone or computer. At first, I used project management software, but later I kept using this product to record all kinds of thoughts, information, tasks, and more about it.

Sometimes I feel exhausted, and sometimes very interested, and often there’s a strong sense of accomplishment.

There are two moments when I feel most relaxed:

  1. When I'm programming and implementing the product according to my own ideas.
  2. When I'm riding my bike and listening to music, especially when freely imagining and designing the product in my mind.

Many aspects of my products were designed while I was riding. The product's features, UI, interaction process, implementation principles, details, etc. I imagined and designed freely while riding. Whenever a good idea comes to my mind, I would stop and record it with my own product. Finally, I would organize them into a usable system and tasks, and implement these ideas one by one according to these tasks.

Cycling is a great form of exercise. It not only helps you strengthen your body, enjoy the scenery, relax your mind, relieve stress, and adjust yourself, but it can also spark plenty of inspiration. If you’re under heavy pressure or working on a product, I highly recommend you go cycling regularly.

Watching movies can sometimes be relaxing, though it’s not as meaningful or relaxing as the two moments I mentioned earlier. Still, it’s also a good way to relieve stress and adjust yourself.

Developing a product involves thinking deeply, experimenting, and doing many different things. It's a continuous process of improving and refining yourself, even challenging and transforming yourself. In the end, your thinking, worldview, and values undergo significant changes, especially when transitioning from a different field to entrepreneurship.
